Food Blog

Welcome to our blog, the blog of Mansión De Chocolate! Today we are going to talk about food in Granada and especially about lunch time. If you look in your lonely planet, or other travel book/guides you will find a lot of information about American based or in comparison to the cheaper and Nica places quite expensive places to eat, which can indeed be very good and tasty! But today we are going to talk about the cheaper Nica places where the food is just as good and tasty or even better! So are you planning on going to Granada, or are you staying in Granada and you fancy a bite? Keep on reading!

So as we wrote above there are a lot of restaurants and bars where you can eat that are descent to good, there is the main street the Calzada with a lot of bars and places you can eat, but where are the hidden pearls?

If you want a good meal, with a good big portion for around 80 Córdoba’s ($2,50) with drink included there is a great place, where a family offers a buffet it is near the cathedral. If you look at the cathedral you need to go to the right on the street called AV Guzmán, you walk about 20 meters and you will find it on your left a yellow building with 2 entrances and a white marker board sign hanging out the door, before the end of the street.

Another good place to go and eat is at the bus stop where the small busses to masaya leave, in the back ( at the left ) there is a small diner corner with delicious food, they change the menu up once in a while, it costs around 80-100 Córdoba’s for food and a drink(coca-cola).

Cueva del Tiburón -à good food, Local secret.

Burrito loco here you can find delicious tacos for a better price then at the taco stop and I find them tastier then the taco stop, go in the street next to the bac and walk half a block further you should find the burrito loco on your left.

In the end just try to walk through the streets, avoid the main street and just try the places that you run in to and we will promise you, you will find diamonds in a rough with a great Nica atmosphere.

Furthermore, you read other blogs they will tell you all the same places where you can eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Like the garden café, los suenos, kathy’s waffles…. and they are indeed good but they are touristic and expensive in comparison to the other places, so if you want to spice things up and want to have really good food for almost nothing?? go to the places we suggest J

Enjoy your meal, Mansión De Chocolate
